Clarence (Butch) Livesay, 79, passed away on November 8, 2022, in Granite City, IL.
Clarence (Butch) Livesay was born on July 1, 1943 in New York, NY, to Clarence Livesay, Sr and Margie Livesay.
Clarence graduated from Granite City High School in 1961 and went on as an apprentice in the tool and die maker trade and finished his career as a machinist at Granite City Steel from where he retired in 2003.
Clarence (Butch) married his wife Sheryl (Prenzel) Livesay in Caseyville, IL, 1975. The couple share 3 daughters. Kimberly (Ron) Gomora of Ashley, IL, Jill (Wade) Belcher, of New Athens, IL, Dawn (John) Cipponeri, of Granite City, IL. Grandchildren, Heather (Zach) Voss, Ross Gomora, Ethan Winkeler, Cole Winkeler, Alyssa Cipponeri, Jocelyn Cipponeri, Jadon Cipponer, and Gianni Cipponeri and 1 great grandson, Callen Voss.
Clarence (Butch) was best known for loving his grand children and a crazy sense of humor…which includes harassing phone scammers.
Clarence (Butch) served His church with great dedication, taught wood working, CNC classes, and Laser engraving at the US Steel Learning center. Was a member of Masonic Lodge 835 of Granite City, and Secretary of the Metro Volkswagen Club. Butch also had many hobbies he enjoyed and sharing with others.
Clarence (Butch) is survived by Sheryl Livesay , his daughters and 4 sisters who loved him dearly, Phyllis Haley, Frances (Logan) Sousley, Penny (Dwayne) Burks and Jeannie (Wayne) Strubinger, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who will miss him terribly.
Clarence (Butch) is preceded in death by Margie Livesay – mother, and Clarence Livesay, Sr. – father, and a brother John Vaughn.
The service for Clarence (Butch) Livesay will be held on Sunday, November 13th at 4PM at Johnson Road GB Church, 2033 Johnson Rd., Granite City, IL 62040
Visitation: Sunday November 13th, 2-4pm with Celebration of Life to follow.
